Although we are unable to guarantee sizes at maturity, these are typical sizes. (Note that Aussie's and MAS are classified by height, NOT WEIGHT)

Miniature American Shepherds (20-40 lbs):

Females: 13-17"

Males: 14-18"

Australian Shepherds:

Females: 18-21" (40-55 lbs)

Males: 20-23" (50-65 lbs)

I believe that AKC does a great job of describing their personalities, so I have used some of their words in my description below:

Both Australian Shepherds and Miniature American Shepherds are bright, self-motivated workers and endearingly loyal and lively companion dogs. They are true herding dogs: energetic, versatile, rugged, and extremely bright. They excel in so many different areas such as service work, agility, herding, dock diving, frisbee, obedience, etc. 

They enjoy being around their owners, and once a bond has been established, you have a lifelong friend who will love you endlessly and will be eager to please you. These dogs have amazing temperaments making them a great working and family dog. They can be giving you 100% effort doing their "jobs" or be right there laying next to you when you're relaxing. They are also full of personality and will make you laugh doing silly things. They are definitely a unique and wonderful breed to own.
